Burger Hut
So yesterday (Wednesday) for lunch I went to Burger Hut, I was picking up a burger for me and one of the guys at work. The guy at the counter was reading the paper and we got to talking about the Tacoma Mall shooting and concealed carry…he was like “Yeah, I had a concealed carry license in Florida and I need to get it transferred here…I need to do that with my food handler’s card, too…”
Uhhhh….well, at least he has a food handler’s card in Florida. 
The sad thing is, it didn’t register with me that he didn’t have a WA food handler’s permit until I was halfway back to campus. I didn’t really care, though…I don’t put much stock in the food handler’s permit, really…I could teach a monkey to get a food handler’s permit.

I’m afraid of people who don’t pass the food handlers license test the first time… also people who don’t get 100%… it scares me that you don’t have to get a 100% to pass… ack. Then again… today I ate a bageda and just picked the worms off of it, so, obviously my sanitation regulations have changed.

Yeah, it would be pretty pathetic if someone didn’t pass it the first time. One of the guys at work used to look up our favorite restaurants on the Ave on the Seattle Health Department website…I am of the firm opinion that ignorance is bliss.

I wouldn’t look up anyplace on the Ave in the health department website… why would you look for what you already know and are trying to ignore?

Vegetarians are REALLY gross.
That said, here in NC they get inspections every 6 months. Then their score is posted in the most public place possible. For example, when you go through a drive-thru the score is posted on the window. It’s nice to see the ones with a 100%, though most are in the 98-99% range. I did see a 92 somewhere last week though, to which I thought, “Gross. I don’t want to eat there.” Only now I forgot where it was… my bad.

that is SUCH a good idea… except that I think a lot of places I eat in seattle would be in the low 40′s.
