yeah, that's the exact scripture I was thinking of when I read your first post about Prayer. So... the thing is, who are you to make a judgment about their relationship with God? I mean, if someone acts like you SHOULD pray that way, then that's wrong but... maybe in their process of learning to pray that's just where they're at.

I know it sounds irritating. I've definitely counted the number of "oh Lord's" in someone else's prayer thinking how annoying it was... but when I did that, I totally missed the point of their prayer. WHen we pray out loud, we're supposed to be in accord with the other person praying. I know it's hard to get past the annoying ticks, just like it's hard to get past it when Hillary Duff uses the word "like" 25 times in one paragraph.

The thing is... are these people who genuinely desire to know God and work for Him? If they are... then the lack of asthetically pleasing prayers is not important... those prayers were never for YOU in the first place.

You may have been right when you said, "I’m a selfish bastard" but then... aren't we all? We're born that way... that's what we always revert to. You can't change their overly spiritual, ritualized, religious practices, but you can ask yourself, "where was MY heart during prayer?" Pray FOR them if they're driving you insane.

You are a good man. You went down there to help people, you know these annoyances are selfish... you're obviously someone who desires to be a godly man... but the way to get there is not to hate Christians who aren't as intellectual as you are.

I'm very proud of what you guys are doing... I know it's not easy and that people get annoying... "1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." 2Corinthians 13:1
