I moved the CFLs to the living room and put incandescent bulbs back in my room. I also changed out the porch light and one of the kitchen lights for CFLs (had to use up the four-pack...and it's nice not to have to change the bulbs every few months...) I draw the line at planting corn in the backyard to make butanol for my car. That was almost the title of this post, but I thought it was too cliche. I thought modern CFLs were supposed to be a lot better in that respect, but my eyes tend to be pretty sensitive to flicker so these might not work for me.... although I have fluorescent tubes in my office and those don't seem to bother me...maybe I need to not buy the 4/$7 special bulbs.
