Things I think would be interesting to do:
- Study (and build!) the best layout for automobile controls. That is, the best layout for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle with minimal training required. I am of the firm opinion that this design does not involve any touchscreens.
- Figure out a way to design or construct building envelopes in a way that unskilled workers can still do a good job, or that skilled workers can do more quickly.
- Develop more prescriptive methods for designing and installing HVAC systems for a building.
- Research what kind of outreach is needed to help the public understand risk, particularly as it relates to getting them to accept self-driving vehicles.
